Consultation has now closed. Thank you for your feedback. A review of all submissions will now take place with a consultation summary and outcomes made available on this page in the coming weeks

Background:

Bushfires can have a devastating impact on communities. Understanding how we can work better together to prevent, prepare, respond to and recover from the threat of bushfire is the focus of the Draft Municipal Fire Management Plan 2019-2022 (MFMP).

The plan includes the requirements and the procedures for emergency mitigation, operations and associated relief and recovery arrangements in Maroondah in the event of a fire emergency.

The MFMP will be reviewed and updated annually to ensure it incorporates any new strategies, programs and tools developed to meet Council, emergency service agencies and community needs and expectations in relation to fire.

The MFMP is a sub-plan of the Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP), which addresses the prevention of, response to, and recovery from, all emergencies within the municipality.
