Following endorsement of the design principles by Council, a draft concept plan will be created and shared to the community for feedback.
What is a landscape masterplan?
A landscape masterplan is a long-term concept plan that ensures a holistic approach for future redevelopment of an area. The masterplan includes physical features of a space and incorporates design principles to ensure that there is a clear direction towards Council and the community’s future vision for a space.
What are design principles?
Design principles are the high-level rules that guide future redevelopment of Staley Gardens. They could include ensuring that the space is accessible by all members of the community and that the space is safe and inviting for visitors.
What will the landscape masterplan include?
The landscape masterplan will identify specific areas within Staley Gardens for addition of infrastructure such as seating, paths, drinking fountains, etc. It will also capture the community’s vision for the area, including highlighting the types of activities that visitors might like to undertake within the space.
When will upgrades to Staley Gardens occur?
Any future upgrade to Staley Gardens will be staged and delivered as funding becomes available.
