Consultation has concluded

Thankyou to our residents who have provided input into the draft Wyreena Masterplan. The Masterplan was endorsed by Council at its meeting on 16 December, 2019. The final Masterplan and Landscape Plan are available in the document library.

Background:

As part of the development of the draft Wyreena Masterplan, community consultation was undertaken to understand the current and future needs of facility users and non users. Based on the feedback we received during this process, changes have been made to the initial concept designs. These changes include:

  • improve street edge interface and drainage; and
  • improved proposed pedestrian accessibility and connectivity e.g. paths and crossings.

A proposed Landscape Plan has also been developed to support the draft Masterplan. The plan includes:

  • enhanced landscaping to the open space areas of the reserve;

  • the staged removal of weeds and replacement with plant species that are more appropriate and align with the original theme of the site; and

  • expansion of the arts theme at the site with additional outdoor sculptures.

Following the community consultation period, the plan will be finalised prior to it being presented to Council.
