Consultation has concluded

Late in 2021 we presented a draft concept plan for a proposed bike track at Yarrunga Reserve. A big thankyou to our community members, reserve users and bike jump enthusiasts who provided feedback online, or visited us on site to discuss the concept plan in more detail.

Since that time our project team have been working closely with our track designers and consultant, to ensure your ideas and suggestions have informed the final track design. The final design now includes the elements that you told us were most important to you, including:

  • A and B lines to cater for different skill levels and abilities
  • Table tops increasing in size
  • Jumps ranging from 3 to 6 metres in length. Height ranging from 0.8 to 1.5 metres high
  • A large 1.8 metre berm on the north end of the track
  • A substantial starting mound
  • An overall outside loop distance of 160 metres

You also told us you wanted an area that specifically catered for little ones learning to ride, so we've allocated a space for a separate mini pump track just for them. The overall facility includes a shade area for easy viewing and a drinking fountain. See final jump track design on this page.

We anticipate construction of the jump track facility to commence in the coming days and all being well, completed by April 2022. In addition further enhancement works for Yarrunga Reserve include bridge renewal and de-silting works which are underway, and the renewal of the tennis courts which we anticipate will commence late March to early April.
