What are the Children and Families and Youth Strategies?

The Children and Families Strategy and Youth Strategy guide how Council works with children and families. The Strategies provide clear strategic direction to guide and focus Council's work with, and for, children (0 to 12 years) and young people (12 to 25 years) and their families who live, work, study or play in the City of Maroondah. They are Council's key strategic documents regarding children, young people and their families.

What are the Children and Families and Youth Action Plans?

These two strategies outline how Council will work to raise the wellbeing of children, young people and families in Maroondah.

Alongside the strategic direction of the strategies, two-year Action Plans were developed which outline how Council will respond to current needs. They are updated every two years and guide Council's actions for this period. You can download the action plan from the Maroondah Youth Services website and the Children and Families Strategy.

We're very excited that it is time to refresh our Action Plans and look forward to hearing from children, young people and stakeholders about the current matters that affect you, and how we can continue helping to raising the wellbeing of young people in Maroondah.

When will the new action plans take effect?

The action plans will be developed following analysis of the outcomes from the community engagement period between October and December. They will begin in July 2023 when the current action plan expires.
