Maroondah is home to shopping strips and business precincts that host a range of street activities. These activities bring our community together and are an integral part of Maroondah’s unique character.
About the Policy
The Street Activities Policy outlines when and how to trade on Council land and the types of activities permitted. The policy was developed to maintain balance between activities and ensure a safe, accessible and enjoyable experience on Maroondah’s streets and in our commercial precincts.
Council is dedicated to responding to the changing needs of the community and our traders and maintaining this balance to ensure clear and unobstructed access for all people to move through Maroondah.
The policy covers items and activities such as - the use of tables, chairs, shade shelters, umbrellas, free-standing barrier screens, pot plants, planter boxes and a-frame signs, goods on display, street performance (busking), and fundraising.
Find the current Policy and guidelines on Council's Street Activities Policy webpage.
