Maroondah City Council has prepared Amendment C142maro to the Maroondah Planning Scheme. Amendment C142maro proposes to introduce permanent heritage controls to 35 Alto Avenue Croydon.
Council undertook a heritage assessment of the site and identified the property to be of architectural, aesthetic, and historical significance to the Maroondah municipality.
Interim heritage protection applies to the site as part of Amendment C141maro. Amendment C141maro was gazetted on 15 October 2020 and applies heritage protection to 35 Alto Avenue Croydon on an interim basis. The interim protection is set to expire on 30 July 2021.
The Amendment was placed on public exhibition from 26 October 2020 to 30 November 2020.
Submissions for Amendment C142maro have now closed.
Next Steps
Due to COVID-19 and the associated physical distancing requirements, a Directions Hearing for Maroondah Planning Scheme Amendment C142maro was held by video conference on 2 March 2021.
The Main Hearing is scheduled to commence by video conference on 13 April 2021. Parties to the Hearing have been contacted regarding these arrangements.
The Panel will hear this matter in an open forum, consistent with its obligation to conduct hearings in public. To observe proceedings or if you have any questions, please contact Planning Panels Victoria at planning.panels@delwp.vic.gov.au
