Help shape our response to climate change

Council has created a new Climate Change Plan 2026-2031 to help make Maroondah greener, safer, better connected and more sustainable for everyone. The Plan aims to make Council’s work and services stronger against climate change and to help cut down on emissions.

The Plan also aims to help people in Maroondah cut down on greenhouse gas emissions and get better at dealing with the impacts of climate change.

Council has recognised the importance of addressing climate change for decades. Since 2011/12, Council has reduced emissions by 69% from Council operations. But we won’t stop there and we know that when communities work together everyone benefits.
