Since our last community update on the Dorset Reserve Enhancement Plan, Council has now developed a schedule of works and proposed timelines for the enhanced sporting facilities component.
The sporting facilities component of the enhancement plan includes the redevelopment of the current sports pavilion into a new multipurpose community sports hub. The facility will be home to the Victorian Burmese/Myanmar community and the Croydon City Arrows Soccer Club.
Proposed Timelines:
Monday 7 December Demolition of the existing Dorset Pavilion - Works on site should take approximately two weeks.
Mid-January 2021 Major utilities installation on site - A temporary closure of the service road into the reserve may be required to ensure the provision of these services can be completed safely.
March 2021 Pavilion construction.
Mid-2021 Development of pitches, lighting and associated infrastructure.
Late 2021 Car park enhancements - Access and car parking for the walking track will not be available during these works.
Other minor works to enhance the sporting facilities in the reserve will be undertaken throughout 2021.
The facility is being funded by Maroondah City Council with $2million from both the Australian and Victorian Governments.
If you have any questions regarding the Dorset Recreation Reserve Enhancement Plan, please call us on 1300 88 22 33 or 9298 4598.

Hi there and thanks for the question.
All public vehicle access to the reserve will be via Jenkins Lane. There are no plans to provide public vehicle access to the reserve via Parrs road. Any current pedestrian or vehicle access (emergency, council access etc) to the reserve via Parrs road will be retained.
