Consultation on the Draft Eastfield Park Enhancement Plan has now closed. We will provide further updates on this page once all feedback has been reviewed.

Previously we presented a draft Concept Plan to key stakeholders and the community for comment. We received extensive feedback during this time and identified key themes and priorities for user groups and the broader community.

In response to the feedback, we developed five key elements in consultation with user groups of Eastfield Park, and taking into consideration the broad views and values of our community.

The community consultation process sought feedback from the community on the proposed key elements.

The proposed elements included:

Improvements to bushland and vegetation areas

  • Rejuvenate existing bushland and vegetation areas
  • Additional tree planting to increase bushland areas
  • Develop and implement a tree dieback mitigation strategy

Enhanced football and cricket facilities

  • A new multipurpose pavilion (primary use for football and cricket however, it will provide opportunities for other community groups to use during non-game/training times) - subject to external funding
  • Modify Bensons Pavilion (new changerooms, storage facilities and undercover viewing area) - subject to external funding
  • New sportsfield for AFL and cricket - subject to external funding
  • Possible new Sportsfield lighting - subject to external funding
  • New cricket nets - subject to external funding

Enhanced light harness and horse and pony facilities

  • Relocation of the light harness track to the west side of Eastfeld Park. Reduction in size from 900m to 600m - subject to external funding
  • New pony club cross country course - subject to external funding

Enhanced open space areas

  • Upgrade to the existing playground
  • Roll Play area (next to playground) for young children to learn to ride bikes and scooters (similar to Queens Park, Healesville) - subject to external funding
  • Wetland and stormwater harvesting area adjacent to creek - subject to external funding
  • New boardwalk areas
  • New picnic area
  • Water play area
  • Additional landscaping

Enhanced accessibility

  • Changes to the access road into Bensons Pavilion to allow for two-way traffic - subject to external funding
  • Improve car park amenity and lighting (while being sympathetic to the natural setting of the park) - subject to external funding
  • Consideration of a possible pedestrian crossing at Eastfield Road (subject to further traffic studies and investigations) - subject to external funding
