Consultation has concluded
On-site works commencing for sporting facility and accessibility enhancements
In consultation with key user groups and the broader community on a range of enhancements to Jubilee Park, the final Jubilee Park Enhancement Plan was endorsed by Council on 27 July 2020. As part of the endorsed Enhancement Plan works are set to commence on the following stage one components:
Enhanced sporting facilities • Construction of new pavilion adjacent to existing site.
Enhanced accessibility • Improved vehicle and pedestrian access.
As part of the accessibility enhancement works, the entrance to Jubilee Park will be widened to allow for improved vehicle and pedestrian access. These works will incorporate a new pathway that will enable safe access for pedestrians to enter from Gardini Avenue to the sporting facilities.
In undertaking the enhancement works we are proposing to remove 12 trees whichhave been independently assessed by an arborist and have in most cases been classified as moderate to low retention value. 10 of the trees are located in the entrance area and a further 2 trees near the Pavilion construction site. Council will be undertaking additional offset planting in the immediate areas, including implementing re-vegetation and enhanced protection of significant trees located onsite.
Council is currently arranging access around the construction zones to ensure park users, and people walking their dogs can continue to access the entire oval safely.
Further works will include resealing the enhanced entryway once construction works are complete and the provision of improved lighting for the entrance way and car park areas.

Why don’t you upgrade both playgrounds. Maroodah have a lot of old and tired playgrounds especially around Heathmont area. It’s great to have both large playgrounds and small playgrounds with lots of different equipment for children of all ages. Its nice to have both small and large playgrounds and different choices for kids to go, especially during Covid times and when you want to avoid places with large amounts of people. Removing a playground doesn’t help. Removing the small playground in Jubilee park isn’t the best thing to do for the residents in this area. Please upgrade both of the playgrounds in the Jubilee park as they will be utilised. (It’s probably under utilised at the moment as tired and old, if upgrade more people would use it).

Hi V
The Jubilee Park Enhancement Plan was endorsed by Council at its meeting on 27 July 2020. The endorsed plan identifies the upgrade of the main playground and does not identify the small playground for removal. The final enhancement plans are available in the document Library on this page
Council has scheduled design works to occur at both playgrounds in the 2021/2022 financial year to plan for their renewal. The local community will be provided further information and opportunities to provide comments in early 2022.
If you require any further information please contact Council’s Asset Management team on 9298 4435.

Hi there,
What is the reasoning behind removal of the elephant park (5)? It is a great small playground that is perfect for smaller children. During 2020 many families had picnics in the park so that little ones could play as well. Students play on it after school while waiting for parents. The picnic table is fantastic and I wish there were a couple more.

What dog facilities are you lot planning? Dog park, dog waste facilities bag and bins. All needed in the area as the park is popular with dog walkers.
