Maroondah City Council, at its meeting on 26 April 2021, resolved to commence the process for the making of Local Law No. 15.

The purpose of Local Law 15 is to:

  • regulate the use of the common seal
  • prohibit unauthorised use of the common seal or any device resembling the common seal
  • provide for a set of offences and associated penalties relating to conduct at meetings - with reference to the requirements of the Governance Rules document.

This consultation has now closed.

A copy of the proposed Local Law and explanatory document (Community Impact Statement) can be found on this page, or from Council’s Service Centres at: Realm, 179 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood; or Croydon Library, Civic Square, Croydon.

Anyone was able to make a written submission on the proposed Local Law pursuant to section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989. Only written submissions received by 5pm on 28 May 2021 are able to be considered.

Anyone who has made a written submission to Council may also request to be heard in person before a meeting of a Committee of Council appointed for this purpose. Notification will be provided as to the day, time and place at which the meeting will be held.
