Consultation has concluded

It’s something many of us don’t give a lot of thought to until we need them, but public toilets play an important role in a wide range of community activities outside of our homes. The availability of modern, clean, safe and accessible public toilets can have a positive influence on the way community spaces are utilised throughout the municipality.

Councils are not the only providers of public toilets, however, we know that our community value and benefit from this service.

In Maroondah, Council currently provides and maintains 28 public toilets to support:

  • participation in social activities and active recreation
  • local economic activity
  • compliance with relevant legislative requirements

To help guide future decisions for when, where and how public toilet services should be provided, Council is developing a policy that establishes a structured and consistent approach for the provision of Council-owned public toilets across the municipality.
