Consultation has concluded
Consultation has now closed. Our project team will be reviewing all feedback received and the results communicated on this page. Thankyou to everyone who has contributed.
Council is inviting you to share your thoughts on bike jump facilities at Yarrunga Reserve and across the municipality.
Council has recently undertaken an assessment of the bike jumps in Yarrunga Reserve. The assessment found that the bike jumps have been constructed to close to residential properties, are impacting local vegetation and bushland areas or are in a state of disrepair.
As a result of Council’s assessment, the jumps that have been deemed unsafe, or in an unsuitable location, will be removed within the next two weeks. We will then undertake bushland rejuvenation works in the area to return it to its natural state.
Council is also undertaking a strategic review of our current bike jump facilities across the municipality. This includes assessing the demand for additional facilities in areas such as Yarrunga Reserve.
We are inviting local residents, community and bike enthusiasts to join us in developing an approach to establish bike jump facilities in Maroondah that are respectful to our local environment and can be managed and maintained by Council in the interests of public safety.
For further information, please contact Council on 1300 88 22 33 or 9298 4598
