The community feedback will inform the directions and actions that Council decides to pursue into the future.Council is encouraging community discussion on the issues facing Maroondah’s vegetation, and inviting feedback on options for addressing some of the causes.

To facilitate this, Council has prepared an Issues and Options Paper, along with six Fact Sheets to support community exploration of complex issues and their causes, the evidence base, and potential options for addressing these causes with the view to protecting, improving, and restoring Maroondah’s vegetation.

The community feedback will then inform the directions and actions that Council decides to pursue into the future.

The future extent and condition of our vegetation and the many benefits it provides is influenced by factors such as climate change and urban growth, but also by the decisions and actions of Council, other public agencies, residents, property and business owners, developers, community groups, and others.

This Issues and Options Paper presents options within Council’s sphere of influence, and invites community feedback on these options. The scope of this discussion is focussed on issues and options that affect Maroondah’s vegetation.
